Hammarsdale at a glance
Hammarsdale is an older industrial suburb (45km from Durban’s CBD) in the heart of Durban’s Outer West on the N3 Durban/JHB corridor - an area experiencing a surge of renewed interest due to its well-priced, zoned and serviced industrial land.
It is located midway between Durban and Pietermaritzburg. The likes of Value Group, Mr Price Group, Ackermans, Bata, SAFAL Steel, Merlog Foods, Boxer, Document Warehouse and many others have recently chosen the Durban Outer West as their location of choice.
Electricity in this node is far cheaper than elsewhere as it is purchased directly from Eskom. With the upmarket residential areas of Kloof and Hillcrest nearby - senior management can live close to the workplace should they relocate to this node.
The sky-rocketing demand for industrial property in Durban, coupled with very low supply of land for sale, has resulted in renewed demand for land in the Durban Outer West Corridor, with Hammarsdale being central to same.
Keystone Park, anchored by Mr Price and Ackermans, has led to the revitalisation of the area, which will in turn increase demand for property in the greater Hammersdale area. Recent publicity surrounding the proposed dry port earmarked for Cato Ridge has further increased demand in the node.
Industrial premises for sale in Hammarsdale are well priced and investors are finding the right tenants for their premises.
