Broll Group CEO Wins Lifetime Achievement Award

Broll Group CEO Wins Lifetime Achievement Award

At the prestigious Africa Property Investment (API) Awards, held on 21 September 2022, Malcolm Horne, Group CEO of Broll Property Group, garnered the Lifetime Achievement Award for his two decades of dedication to the property industry.

The API Awards recognise and promote excellence in Africa’s rising real estate sector and have become a critical benchmark for measuring success in the industry.

The awards are open to developers, professional teams, consultants, suppliers and property owners involved in the African real estate industry. To ensure impartiality and objectivity, the awards are judged by a panel of industry experts and thought leaders.

This award has acknowledged Horne’s extensive experience in the real estate sector and his solid track record of driving growth in companies operating in developing and complex environments. Under his leadership the progressive property group has expanded into an international market leader renowned for integrity and client excellence.

For the Lifetime Achievement Award, entrants are judged on:

Consistency and resilience in the African real estate sector.

Ability to be an industry thought leader.

Quantifiable achievements in the last 20 years.

Businesses/organisations performance or transformation under the nominee’s leadership.

Competitive Advantage: how the nominee stands out from the rest in the African real estate industry.

Horne has clearly demonstrated these attributes throughout his extensive career in the property business, starting as Portfolio Executive and then being promoted to Managing Director and finally Group CEO. He is an industry mentor and seasoned property expert, with a special interest in achieving an optimal balance between good corporate governance and entrepreneurial growth.

Upon winning the award, Horne commented, “I am honoured to have been given this award and I’m thankful for my team across the continent, as well our clients and industry colleagues who have inspired me to keep looking forward and to lead with integrity.”

The objectives of the API Awards are to:

Recognise and reward excellence in the real estate and associated sectors.

Encourage innovative real estate solutions within the industry.

Enhance quality standards.

Promote confidence in the real estate and property industry.

Safeguard and strengthen interest of stakeholders in the industry.

Provide a strategic and reputable platform of interaction for the different stakeholders in the industry.

Of the awards, Horne says, “I believe that upholding industry standards and sharing experience and knowledge are essential in maintaining quality and integrity in the property industry, and the API Awards go a long way in helping to achieve this.”
